Why tonnage alone is not enough

The first rule in breaker selection is carrier weight, and it is a physical constraint rather than a preference: if the breaker is too light for the machine the excavator crushes the body and shears the tie rods; if it is too heavy the load on the boom pins risks cracking the boom and upsets machine stability. That is why models outside your tonnage never appear in the list.

But tonnage alone is not enough. If the flow your machine delivers to the breaker line is below the breaker operating range, the breaker strikes slowly and weakly; if it is above, the excess turns into heat across the relief valve and stresses the circuit. Operating pressure matters in the same way.

This tool evaluates all three together. It does not hide models whose tonnage fits but whose flow or pressure is marginal; it shows them and states why. You need to know what you are deciding with.

What happens if I fit a breaker that is too large for my excavator?

The boom pins and the boom itself take more load than they are designed for; the machine loses stability and the boom risks cracking. The machine also cannot deliver the flow the breaker needs, so it will not work efficiently anyway. The tonnage range is a limit, not a recommendation.

Is fitting a breaker that is too small harmless?

No. The excavator presses down on the breaker with its own weight; this crushes the body, shears the tie rods and damages the mounting bracket. A breaker being too light is as much of a problem as being too heavy.

What happens if my oil flow is below the breaker range?

The breaker strikes more slowly than normal and loses noticeable power. It looks like a fault but it is not; the machine simply cannot feed the breaker. The "flow too low" warning in this tool says exactly that.

Does more flow make the breaker faster?

No. A breaker is designed to work within a given flow range; excess flow does not raise the blow rate, it turns into heat across the relief valve and stresses the hydraulic circuit.

Several models came up. Which one should I choose?

More than one model can suit the same tonnage range; the difference lies in impact energy, tool diameter and body construction. Go heavier for hard rock and long working hours, lighter for light demolition and confined spaces. If you are unsure, tell us the material and your daily working hours.
