The HKM DC40 Drum Cutter is the most powerful and largest model in the series, developed specifically for 30-50 t class excavators. With a 2,420 kg operating weight and a maximum torque capacity of up to 30,000 Nm, it delivers high efficiency in hard rock, reinforced concrete and mining applications.
Running in a 300-400 L/min oil-flow range, the system meets a 125 kW power requirement and sustains high torque even at low speed. Equipped with 72 cutter bits per drum, the DC40 breaks material homogeneously and precisely, producing a backfill-ready granular structure.
Designed for heavy-duty conditions, this model provides a top-tier solution especially on high-strength projects such as tunneling, rock carving, mine surface work and deep foundation excavation.
