Mini Excavator Breaker

Which breaker suits a mini excavator?
The first measure for choosing a breaker is the operating weight of the machine. If the breaker is too light, the operator starts pushing it with the machine's force, and that pressure wears out the body, bushings and tool early. If it is too heavy, the load moves to the machine: the boom, pins and bushings work above their design load, and the machine can lose stability, especially at full reach.
That is why every HKM model comes with a carrier range. If your machine's operating weight falls inside it, the model is in the right class; the final choice comes from the flow and pressure of the breaker circuit. Together, the 10 models in the mini class cover machines of 0.7-12 t; the smallest, the G10, is rated for 0.7-3 t.
Backhoe loaders have their own page: Backhoe Loader Breaker. Skid steer loaders are a different machine with different mounting needs; for those, choose the breaker together with us.

Values are HKM catalogue data. Flow and pressure are the operating range of the breaker; compare them with what your machine delivers to the breaker line.
Grey Line or Red Line?
The Grey Line runs on hydraulics plus nitrogen (hybrid): a low-pressure gas chamber adds power to the blow. In the mini class, G10, G12, G15, G20, G30, G30BL, G40 and G40BL belong to this line.
The Red Line is fully hydraulic: a high-pressure accumulator delivers steady, efficient impacts. In the mini class, RS50 and RS50BL belong to this line.
Models with the BL suffix (G30BL, G40BL and RS50BL) have an open-frame design: the same carrier range as their closed-body counterparts, easier service access and a more economical option.
Three things to check
Carrier weight
The operating weight of your machine must fall inside the carrier range of the model. If you use a quick coupler, its weight also sits on the end of the boom; take it into account when you are near the limit of the range.
Oil flow and pressure
The flow and pressure your machine delivers to the breaker line must fall inside the operating range of the breaker. Take these values from the manuals of your machine and of the breaker model; if you are unsure, have the line measured. With too little flow the breaker strikes slowly and weakly; excess flow turns into heat.
Bracket and mounting
The breaker is fitted to the machine with a mounting bracket, and the bracket is made to the connection dimensions of your machine. When you ask for a quote, tell us the make and model of your machine and whether you use a quick coupler.

Frequently asked
Which breaker suits 1.5 t mini excavators?
HKM models whose carrier range covers 1.5 t: G10 (0.7-3 t), G12 (1.2-3 t), G15 (1.5-5 t). The flow and pressure of your machine's breaker line narrow the choice; take those values from your machine manual and compare them with the ranges in the table.
Which breaker suits 3 t mini excavators?
HKM models whose carrier range covers 3 t: G10 (0.7-3 t), G12 (1.2-3 t), G15 (1.5-5 t), G20 (2-5 t), G30 (3-9 t), G30BL (3-9 t), RS50 (3-9 t), RS50BL (3-9 t). The flow and pressure of your machine's breaker line narrow the choice; take those values from your machine manual and compare them with the ranges in the table.
Which breaker suits 5 t mini excavators?
HKM models whose carrier range covers 5 t: G15 (1.5-5 t), G20 (2-5 t), G30 (3-9 t), G30BL (3-9 t), RS50 (3-9 t), RS50BL (3-9 t). The flow and pressure of your machine's breaker line narrow the choice; take those values from your machine manual and compare them with the ranges in the table.
Which breaker suits 8 t mini excavators?
HKM models whose carrier range covers 8 t: G30 (3-9 t), G30BL (3-9 t), G40 (6-12 t), G40BL (6-12 t), G60 (7-14 t, Medium Class), RS50 (3-9 t), RS50BL (3-9 t). The flow and pressure of your machine's breaker line narrow the choice; take those values from your machine manual and compare them with the ranges in the table.
What weight of breaker can a mini excavator carry?
There is no single figure: it depends on the operating weight of your machine. Each HKM model is listed with the carrier range it is designed for; find your machine weight in the table above and pick a model whose range covers it.
